AWF conservation project at Manyara Ranch, Tanzania

Manyara Ranch is located in northern Tanzania and is part of a critical wildlife corridor between Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks. African Wildlife Foundation has been working for more than a decade to restore the former cattle ranch to a prime wildlife area, and with the help of Honeyguide Foundation, protect the ranch’s wildlife from poachers.

The goal of SkyCAM is to revolutionise frontline reporting in Africa using drone

technology. The partnership with CCTV Africa provided us with an exciting opportunity to work with an Afrocentric media to showcase the use of unmanned aerial vehicles which we believe will enrich story telling and broadcast coverage across the continent. Taking advantage of the visit to Kenya of Ben Kreimer from the Drone Journalism Lab at the University of Nebraska, CCTV Africa and the AfricanSkyCam project visited the Ol Pejeta conservancy to film the park and its animals.
